What Ought To Be

What Ought To Be

To fly free

Be unadorned

By the expectations conformed

Upon you by yourself

And by right, on every one else.

Rites of passage make questions

As questionable

As any right at all

And by virtue,

As questionable

As any wrong.

To see just black and white

Is to ignore

Wilfully,

Selectively,

All the colours beyond optic spectrum-

Broadly universal,

Because the definition of universal,

Connotes the undefined.

And yet all colours are

Universally different by perceptive selection

And independent by definition.

All colours exist

Because they do not exist.

So fly unimaginably free

And imagine all the colours

That ought to be.
